2024 Midwest BunFest Rabbit Attendance Agreement
1. I confirm that my rabbit is in good health.
All bunnies must be in good health while attending the event. If a Midwest BunFest leader suspects that your bunny is ill, you will be asked to leave and take him/her home. Certain illnesses can be spread from rabbit-to-rabbit, and we want to prevent the transmission of disease and injury to all our visitors.
2. I confirm that my rabbit(s) is/are vaccinated for RHDV2 and is up-to-date on the annual booster, and I will provide one of the required items as proof of that vaccination or booster.
3. I am not bringing in any bedding, hay or food that I do not know the source of its origin, and that origin is not within an RHVD2 outbreak area.
(Larger companies such as Oxbow have stringent RHD control practices in place.)
4. I will keep my rabbit(s) in a carrier, stroller, or carried in an appropriate harness while at Midwest BunFest.
Please use approved carriers: purses, knapsacks, duffel bags, picnic baskets, etc. are not designed for your rabbit's safety, health, and comfort. Midwest BunFest reserves the right to refuse admission to any rabbit brought in an inappropriate carrier. Rabbits are not allowed to be loose in the venue at any time.
5. I will not allow my rabbit to approach another rabbit at any time.
This could result in injury to your rabbit or the other rabbit caused by fighting, biting, kicking, scratching, etc. Interaction between rabbits that are not previously bonded and belonging to the same guardian is strictly prohibited.
6. I will clean up after my rabbit.
We all understand that "accidents happen" but it is very important that all messes be cleaned up immediately to avoid the spread of disease, ensure good sanitation, and prevent injury to our event guests. You may alert one of the Midwest BunFest volunteers if assistance or cleaning supplies are needed.
7. I will keep a close eye on my bunny's behavior.
While BunFest is designed to be fun for everyone, your bunny may become stressed or ill. Loud noises, crowds, unfamiliar smells, etc. can cause stress in rabbits and lead to illness. No one knows your bunny as well as you do, so please use your very best judgment to decide when your bunny has "had enough" for the day and take them home.
8. I will keep my bunny well hydrated and fed at all times.
Please note that the Chilaxabun Bun Lounge area will be available this year.
9. I accept all risks and liabilities.
OHRR will not accept responsibilities or liability for injuries or illnesses incurred as a result of attendance at Midwest BunFest. In our bunny service areas, our volunteers will treat your rabbit with the utmost care, and we are prepared for emergencies, however; we cannot predict your rabbit’s behavior and responses to various situations that may occur. If your rabbit does not like being handled (many don’t), is uncomfortable with strangers, or has other behavioral tendencies that could lead to injury, please let our volunteers in the service areas know. We will work with you and your bunny so you may enjoy all of our activities, but our main concern will be for the safety and health of everyone involved.
