2020 Midwest BunFest Rescue Partners
Together is Better.
There are so many wonderful organizations throughout the world serving their local communities through animal rescue and education efforts. We love building relationships and collaborations with these animal rescue organizations.
Midwest BunFest is a helpful way for OHRR to build a community of these animal rescue organizations, both small and large. We hope to create a network of like-minded groups in order to collaborate on rescue efforts, share best practices, provide support, and partner on events.
OHRR believes that by meeting and working together, animal rescue organizations will continue to grow, based on shared knowledge and experiences. This will allow each organization to reach beyond their local communities and contribute to the well-being of even more animals.

A Home for EveryBunny
A Home for EveryBunny is a non-profit foster-based rescue, and the only exclusive house rabbit rescue in Iowa. Cats and dogs aren’t the only animals to end up in shelters. Rabbits are the third most common animal to end up in a rescue. Unfortunately, while many shelters are doing their best, rabbit care is much different than that of cats and dogs and can leave rabbits in shelters without the specialized care they need. We provide the specialized care that rabbits need for their health and success through our network of foster homes. We also provide personalized attention to each adopter, so that they can find the pet that will best fit their home for years to come.

Hoppy Havens Small Animal Rescue
We are a 501C3 non-profit licensed foster based animal rescue located in Peoria, Illinois. At HHSAR we focus on the animals who are often overlooked and forgotten, primarily small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, et cetera. These animals are quite often obtained by people who incorrectly think that they are easy to care for and then learn that they have needs just like dogs and cats. We are here for those animals to help them on their journey to finding the love and care they deserve. Our goal is to help all animals that we have the means to help, while doing our best to minimize our environmental impact. We also strive to operate with a loving and caring vegan mindset.

House Rabbit Society is an international, animal welfare organization with headquarters in Richmond, California. Their mission has two parts: to rescue abandoned rabbits and find permanent adoptive homes; through education they seek to reduce the number of unwanted rabbits -- and to improve bunnies' lives -- by helping people better understand these often misunderstood companion animals. Since 1988, over 40,000 rabbits have been rescued through House Rabbit Society and their chapters in the US and abroad.
What's new at HRS? We celebrated our 100th adoption of the year on September 22nd. While adoptions have been slower than normal, all things considered, it's still a very exciting milestone to cross this year! We also have been very active this summer helping out local shelters here in Northern California, partnering with them to transfer in adoptable rabbits to HRS to help them make room for fire-evacuated animals. We just brought in 3 rabbits from the Napa Shelter to help with animals impacted by the Glass Fire and in August, we took in 18 rabbits in the span of 2 days from several shelters impacted by the LNU Lightning Complex Fire and the SCU Lightning Complex Fire. It's been a very busy summer! We're also working to help make more people aware of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus and hopefully save more rabbit lives.
