Ohio House Rabbit Rescue
Ohio House Rabbit Rescue was founded in 2009 when it was discovered that there was a need for a rabbit-specific rescue in central Ohio. The mission of Ohio House Rabbit Rescue is to establish and operate an Adoption Center for rescued abandoned pet rabbits, offer a robust adoption program, and provide educational resources and programming on the proper care of rabbits as indoor companions. Ohio House Rabbit Rescue envisions a community where all pet rabbits live indoors as companions and have access to a proper diet, habitat, and regular veterinary care for the duration of their life.
The Ohio House Rabbit Adoption Center is funded through donations, grants, fundraising events, and partnerships with businesses and organizations. The Adoption Center can comfortably house 25 to 30 rabbits in 4-foot-by-4-foot enclosures. It also contains a veterinary care room, intake space for new rabbits, and a rabbit supply store stocked with high-quality supplies and educational materials. The Adoption Center is maintained by our wonderful volunteers.

Small Pet Select
We are pleased to welcome back Small Pet Select as a returning sponsor, vendor, and educator at Midwest BunFest 2019.
Small Pet Select is a family owned business. We have a hands-on, personal commitment to rabbits and other small animals. We foster, we rescue, we give back. We also know hay - not in a distant way, but up close and personal. Our founding family, the Gordons, live right in the middle of the Kittitas Valley. The valley is known the world over for it’s perfect climate and soil for hay crops. Bill Gordon has long-standing relationships throughout the farming community, and he personally travels around to the fields to choose the best of the best.
Rabbits know the difference between our fresh hay and other hay that’s been sitting in warehouses and on shelves. Our hay goes right from the farm to us to your door. We pack in boxes, to keep out harmful UV rays and to let the hay breath. We pack by hand, so strands of hay don’t get chopped up by machines. The result? Our hay comes to your home directly, still packed with good nutrition, and smelling like a summer day!
Ask your rabbit. They’ll tell you our hay is the yummiest - and they’ll fill up the shopping cart with herbal mixes, organic toys made by hand, and other goodies if you leave them alone too long near the laptop. Our Spokesrabbit Belinda is quite the hacker, and we believe it may be a previously unknown rabbit trait. Guard your passwords.

Our Science Selective Rabbit food is Great Britain’s #1 brand as voted for by pet specialists. Selective pellets are different because they are extruded rather than cold pressed which means…
- Bunnies go crazy for the unique crunchy texture that is irresistibly tasty without the need for added sugars
- Selective is rich in natural ingredients and there are high levels of short and long fibre, with natural prebiotics which will help promote optimum digestive wellbeing
- Bunnies enjoy a larger portion size for the same calorific content – this will promote active chewing, helping maintain their weight whilst making them very happy bunnies
- Bunnies look and feel fantastic, as the natural linseed in Selective helps promote a healthy skin and glossy, healthy coat

Sherwood Pet Health
We are excited to welcome back Sherwood Pet Health as a returning event sponsor and supporter of Midwest BunFest 2019.
It is our mission to provide pet parents with the best, scientifically backed, nutritional products that will help their loved ones to live the happiest and most healthy lives possible. Sherwood is the maker of the only soy/grain-free food and nutrition products in the U.S. and around the world. We have vet offices, rescue groups, including the HRS centers that sell, use and recommend our foods. We hope to influence and educate pet parents everywhere about their pets nutritional, environmental, and emotional health and wellness needs. We will continue to make efforts in serving and aiding in the adoption and rescue process of these small animals with the aim that they are placed in forever homes with educated caretakers.
We have adopted pets from a local shelter or other caretakers involved in rescuing and fostering neglected pets. We are fully committed to the ideology of the HRS regarding animal welfare by providing our own pets with healthy living environments, proper nutrition, regular veterinary care and social/emotional interactions with their own species and with their caretaker who is educated on the principles of training through positive reinforcement. Our pets are our official taste testers used in improving the palatability of our treats, SARx and Support Tablets.
We aim to set the bar high and continuously improve the health and nutritional status of all pets through research and the development of alternative health care options. Our methods of research involve rigorously studying previously published research in all disciplines and formulating ethical minimally invasive experiments that do not harm or reduce the quality of life or wellbeing of any animal. Terminal research isn’t necessary or justified. Technology has been developed for the human health sector to assess a wide variety of health related metrics that are useful in obtaining the needed information to improve the life and health of our furry loved ones. We can’t imagine it any other way.
We are members of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). Research projects aimed at answering more complex questions will first be approved through this channel that requires detailed research proposals to be submitted and reviewed by the AEMV board committee members.
